Cub Scout event
Several brothers have expressed to me that if there was some way they could help Cub Scouting just to let them know...
A competitive shooting event for Webelos, Boy Scouts, and Venturers
Packs, troops and crews are encouraged to camp for the weekend.
I was asked to take the Cub Scout (Webelos) part of this over as the original leader quit. My staff so far consists of a Deputy Sheriff to run the BB gun range and an older Scout to run the archery range(tons of experience). What I need are adults to help on either range, (the more "eyes" the safer), "floaters" people that can fill in where needed, handing out and collecting targets, etc, and...
Someone(s) to design and run a "fun" shooting range. They will "shoot" baskets with basketballs, different targets with rubberband guns, slingshots, potato guns....just a side range that gives an additional activity that is purely fun. There is no design for this one, just a concept...so this would be fun. I can provide just about any materials you need, we have a decent budget, just no time.
I do have a decent staff of Scouts, but I can always use additional adults to help make this a safe and fun event. If you can help...great! If you can't help...don't worry! There will be other opportunities....
The ranges are open only on Saturday from 8:30 to 2:00 or until all 150 Cub Scouts have shot. I have planned my closing ceremonies for 3:30 at the latest. So even an hour or two on Saturday is a big help. I am working on free food for my volunteers.
Thanks!
Rick T.

Re: Cub Scout event
Thanks Jay. The part of the event I need help with is held on Saturday from 8 am to 2 pm. I have Scouts to help out but with 150 Webelos Scouts running around I will feel a lot better with adult eyes. Your help is very much appreciated!
